Sleepy Whisper
A baby monitor built from phones you already own. No cloud, no account, and no internet required.
Get it on Google PlayWhat it looks like
Real screens from the app. Swipe.
Three things and you're watching
- Put an old phone in the nursery. Prop it by the cot and tap start. Its screen can go dark; it keeps watching.
- Open it on your own phone. Scan the code, or type the address into any browser. Nothing to install on the second device.
- Watch, listen, talk back. Alerts wake your locked phone if something stirs.
It works when the internet doesn't
Two devices on the same Wi-Fi are enough. So is a phone hotspot in a blackout. There is no server in the middle, because the nursery phone is the server — it hosts the connection itself and hands the video straight to your device.
That one decision is why setup needs no infrastructure at all: no hub to buy, no account to make, nothing to configure. Video and audio travel directly between your own two devices, encrypted, and never reach us — because there is nowhere for them to go. Read the privacy policy.
Built for a dark room at 3am
Dark screen
Dims the nursery phone so it doesn't light the room. Drag to peek without waking anyone.
Noise and motion alerts
With the room level shown, so you can judge the threshold by eye.
Alert history
See what actually happened overnight.
Battery and heat
Of the nursery phone, with an estimate of how long it will last.
Talk back
Hold to speak into the room. Volume goes past 100% to hear quiet breathing.
Mounted any way
Rotate the picture for a phone clamped sideways to a cot, and switch cameras while streaming.
Honest about what it is
Sleepy Whisper is not a medical device. It does not monitor breathing, movement in a medical sense, or vital signs. It shows you your room and lets you hear it. It is not a substitute for adult supervision.
The access code changes every five minutes and devices must be paired before they can watch, so a neighbour on your Wi-Fi cannot open your nursery.
